Synopsis
Based on George Bernard Shaw’s clever comedy Pygmalion, this enchanting musical tells the unlikely love story between cantankerous phonetics professor Henry Higgins and cockney flower seller Eliza Doolittle. To win a friendly wager, Professor Higgins attempts to transform Eliza into a lady by teaching her to speak in a way that evokes “the majesty and grandeur of the English language.” But when the experiment is finished, he is surprised at the unforeseen problem of what do with her. Could it be that he has changed as much as she?
The unforgettable score contains an abundant collection of well-loved songs, filled with witty lyrics and sparkling melodies: On the Street Where You Live, I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face, I Could Have Danced All Night, Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, and Get Me To The Church On Time.
