“A Few Good Men” is a play written by Aaron Sorkin. It tells the story of U.S. military lawyers at a court-martial who attempt to uncover a conspiracy. “A Few Good Men” has many familiar themes that include honor, courage, and commitment. The only difference is that the situation has changed; the enemy is within and not on a recognizable foreign shore. Not only does “A Few Good Men” explore the enemy as an enemy within our own ranks with human qualities but it also touches on the idealism of what true honor, courage, and commitment really mean and how difficult it can be to maintain, especially in time of conflict. This play explores the shallowness which men can bring to these words and the true meaning of the depth to which honor, courage, and commitment can bring to the hearts and minds of people in all circles. “A Few Good Men” tells of the struggles ordinary men and women encounter that can make them extraordinary in the most difficult of times.
